Bathtub Refinishing

Bathtub Refinishing

Also known as Tub Reglazing or Bathtub Resurfacing

All of these terms are completely interchangeable and refer to the exact same process. Bathtub refinishing by Texarkana Bathtub Refinishing is a tried-and-true process of taking your existing tub surface preparing it for a new finish and then placing a new coating over the top of your existing surface. This gives you the look of a brand-new tub possibly even in a new color without any of the problems and costs associated with doing a complete demolition and replacement of a bathtub, shower, sink, or countertop. Our proprietary products which we have private labeled for us through a manufacturer in Florida along with a time proven process we've used since 2004 ensures that you get a high-quality finish that we are able to not only promise customer satisfaction but also provide a three-year warranty to you. A three-year warranty on a refinished bathtub is even better than the typical one-year warranty that a brand new bathtub comes with from the manufacturer. Texarkana Bathtub Refinishing also offers bathroom wall tile resurfacing, bathroom vanity reglazing, cracked fiberglass repair, and chip repair. All of our services are available in a variety of colors and we even have stone finished colors that we are able to use on your bathroom wall tile and bathroom vanity tops. Our process out-performs any DIY bathtub paint kits on the market.

Texarkana Bathtub Refinishing is your premier choice for bathtub remodeling because we are your one stop to save you both time and money. Most of our projects can be completed in one day and are fully cured and ready to use the next morning. When compared with traditional remodeling which involves demolition and replacement, we are 70% cheaper than bathtub replacement. A typical bathtub replacement runs approximately $1500. Our refinishing service for most bathtubs is under $400.   That is a 73% SAVINGS!!  AND you keep the durability and comfort of your cast iron or pressed metal bathtub!

Process Overview:

If you've never heard of Texarkana bathtub refinishing you may be curious about what exactly is involved in the process. Well let's run through a quick overview of what happens when a technician shows up at your house.

The first thing we do is EVALUATE the current condition of your tub. We determine if it's been previously refinished before or has a DIY kit from Home Depot or Lowe's applied to it that is not sticking. We also look for pitting and acid damage that has been caused by very aggressive cleaners. Another consideration is damage to the tub. This can be caused by pets being bathed in the tub who get nervous and dig into and scratch your coating or can be caused by aggressive young bathers who get carried away with their bath toys! These things tell us what exactly we need to do to get your tub into tiptop shape.

Our next step is a DEGLOSSING process which is typically is an acid wash of your bathtub. This does a couple of things for us: number one it gets the surface very clean so that our coatings can stick extremely well . The other thing it does for us in your hard surface tubs such as porcelain is this step provides microscopic little pores that our coatings are able to get down into and bond instead of sitting on a shiny surface where they can easily be scraped away. Once the deglossing process is done we wash down the tub with a strong solvent to help get rid of any remaining dirt and contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, and soap scum buildup. Once this is completed, we ensure that your tub is extremely dry by running forced air over it paying particular attention to areas along the tile line, the floor, and around the drain where water and moisture tend to hide. For long lasting results it is critically important that a bathtub be thoroughly cleaned and completely dry before any coatings are applied.

That brings us up to our first step in the coatings application. We apply an aerospace EPOXY PRIMER to your bathtub which acts as the glue to our process.

Once this is complete the final step is to apply an aliphatic acrylic urethane TOPCOAT to your tub in your choice of color. We can make your tub nearly any color that you can find on a Sherwin-Williams color chart. We usually recommend our customers avoid your darker colors such as your rich Reds and your Blacks simply because they tend to show too many flaws in the underlying surface. Believe it or not even baked on porcelain tubs are not completely smooth and can have many flaws in them which show up when a bright shiny dirt color is applied to them. This is essentially the final step in the refinishing process. At this point the technician from Texarkana bathtub refinishing will review care instructions with you to cover important items such as how long to allow the tub to dry and what are good cleaners to use on your bathtub to keep it looking great for years!

Holiday Inn Express Case Study

Our local Holiday Inn Express had some yellow tubs with badly outdated tile surrounds they were looking to update as part of their renovation process to upgrade the hotel.  Just take a look what we did... peeling, discolored bathmats were removed, bathtubs reglazed into a bright white with a built in slip resistant bottom, and a complimentary stone finish was applied to the bathroom wall tile surrounds.

Now, not only did these bathrooms LOOK modern and clean, they were MUCH safer for the hotel customers.  Slip and fall injuries are a HUGE liability for hotel owners and a real danger to home owners; particularly for young children, recently injured, and elderly with mobility issues.  We add this safety feature FREE with any of our bathtub refinishing services!

We also offer EASY ACCESS bathtub step-ins.  These are great when the bathtub is no longer needed for bathing and stepping over the edge of the tub is a fall hazard for the occupant or homeowner.  No need to spend $5000+, see what we can do for less than $1000!  CLICK HERE
